A year and a thank you ~

This time last year if you'd asked me what a Blogoversary was I wouldn't have had a clue!
Yet a year on, and I'm still writing, creating and taking photographs for a very real, live online blog space - and most wonderfully of all - a handful of lovely, like minded people have stopped by to read it and even taken the time to leave such kind and supportive comments.
I didn't know what I was doing when I first began exploring the idea of writing a blog . . . I googled a lot - and watched from behind the scenes for sometime - before jumping in and having a go myself.
I've learnt as I've gone along - and my oh my there is still SO much to learn - I like that : )
But, I think what I like the most, is the sense of encouragement and community that exists in this blogging world we all dwell in together.
It's really restored my ever decreasing faith in people, and in myself - at a time when my mental well being was fragile and confused.

Precious little things x

* Mornings of coming down to the meadow to feed the ponies
* Sunlight pouring through my windows in the early hours
* The little Robins that follow me around the field
* Four ponies greeting me for breakfast
* My cat sleeping beside me on my pillow
* My favourite quotes in pretty frames around my room
* Unopened note books on my desk ready for my scribbles
* The sound of family around the house
* The cheerful voice of my little nephew
* Kind messages from lovely friends

Cosiness, cats and calm reflection

Accept what is -
In yourself. In others.
Let go of what was -
That was then. This is now.
Have Faith in what will be -
Life always finds a way to turn itself around again

This special quote came from my Nanny  - With Love -

Just reflecting on the quotes sentiment is very reassuring . . .
We could all maybe use a little more trust in life, and ourselves

Courage . . .

Possibly I'm a little mad -  but if something is special to you and brings you joy - why not devote time to it . . .

I have for sometime now thought about bringing a new website to life . . . if you enjoy all things country life, horses, photography and country vintage related -  you may like my attempts at combining my new little creation just here . . .
Bridie's meadow has come to life . . .
*  Just when I thought I was all out of courage - someone said something very kind - and I realised that there is still a little bravery to dig out and set free . . .

Chapter 1 ~ January

I turned over the very first page of my 2017 calendar, and this lovely quote greeted my eyes as if to throw me straight into January with encouragement and a little life lesson too!
I think these words offer a lot of positivity to all of us fellow writers and creative individuals. Just what we need as we start the New Year!
Self doubt is something we're all familiar with I'm sure, and losing that fear that runs so deep in each of us is never an easy thing to accomplish. January however, seems a very good time to start making changes for the better, for others, for ourselves, and for everything that matters to us.
I do believe that resolutions, goals and dreams for the New year are very good and helpful. However, I also feel that it is not kind or fair to apply unhealthy amounts of pressure to ourselves  (or others)  to achieve them . . Emotionally, being hard on ourselves for not achieving what we had set our hearts and minds on, will only deplete our confidence.
