Dearest January

Grey moonlit nights over the rivers edge

Frosted grass and sparkling skies

Mindful escapism to rural bliss amongst the pasture

January sunlight warming cold hands

Dearest January,

you are bright and full of promise, even during your dark days. There are some who see the colour Blue in your arrival, but I feel there are many warming shades during your 31 days with us. The cold breeze is fierce, but the hope and lightness in the air makes new possibilities seem a little closer than before. When I admire your touch to nature, I see plant shoots sprouting and budding gently, slowly rising from their sleepy soil. January, you ask us to gently rise while taking time to warm up and go steadily. For in rest their is restoration. Eveything around us is restoring itself below the surface. Perhaps we can too.
