April Joys

There is great comfort to be found in doing the things that bring us joy.

I've been thinking back to the old days of blogging, when sharing and connecting all that we love was at the heart of making our online scrap books.

When we include what we love doing in our daily routine, even if it's as simple as taking a deep breath whilst listening to birdsong outside our window, before the morning comes in; we're sending a powerful message to ourselves that right now, in this moment, all is safe and well.

I fear this simple time of creating because we love to, has got a little lost amongst the noise of social media? Blogging in the older days seemed quieter yet so fulfilling. . .

When we focus on what is good and restorative, our mind settles, re groups and most importantly - trusts again.

When our mind is in a trusting, accepting state, our reactions are calmer, our inner self talk kinder, and everything feels lighter around us. There is no comparisons or catching up with the world around us. There is just the moments inbetween, rich and full of enjoyment.

A little more joy fuels a little more faith that we can manage and thrive, just as we are.

Joy is something that rebuilds our confidence, champions our happiness and creates a space for feeling better in ourselves.

Though hard to grasp at moments, joy will grow when planted safely and tended to often.

Sometimes doing something just for us, without any gain, accept to re fuel the senses, is a wonderful way to feel better inside and out.

I have been a little absent from my writing in recent months. Somewhere along the way I had forgotton that finding joy, and making time for it just because. . . is so important in our day to day goings on.

. . . But, I'm coming back, opening up again just as the Apple Blossom's do this time of year, and I'm making a space at my table for April joys to begin.
